There is a lot that can happen in a year. For instance, this time last year I was hiding in the back of beyond, discovering the joys of being alone.
And yes, I know I haven’t posted in a while. I try, but I’m really bad at it. Even when I have awesome news, like now.
*drumroll please*
MY BOOK IS BEING PUBLISHED!
The manuscript formerly* known as For the convenience of other sinners will be coming to you in a couple of months courtesy of Canterbury University Press!
I’m going through the editing process at the moment and it is cutting out a lot of my em-dashes. Which makes me a little sad. But what I lose in em-dashes I gain in, like, actual added quality to my writing.
It’s still a bit of a blur for me, because I’ve basically been prepared to put aside a lot of what I worked on through 2019/20 to concentrate on writing a novel – which I’d need to get published before anyone would look at publishing my book of weird short stories. The fact that CUP are taking a punt on a debut author with a book of short stories is super unusual and I am so happy and nervous.
I’m not 100% sure of the pub date at this point, but as soon as I know, you’ll know, because that’s when I’m going to start spamming the crap out of you all to buy the thing. You’ll start to wish I’d go back to never posting anything.
*This title is going to change, but I’m not sure what it’s going to change to.
